Meet the new Asset Guardian

Meet the new Asset Guardian: same as the old Asset Guardian… on the surface.
 
Asset Guardian (Version 4) has been completely rewritten and now uses a Java-based platform. 
 
It’s still the only real alternative for keeping overall control of process-critical software development and operation in high value production environments, and those already using the application will notice very little change. However, the Version:4 package is fully web-enabled, using “thin client” server architecture.. It can be used either on the internet or an intranet.
 
For the client, this means that - other than the Java application - there is nothing installed on their machines. This brings huge benefits to the client in that it can be accessed from different locations – anywhere in the world. This also offers better security, plus the ability to run it on Windows, Linux, Unix - or any mix ‘n’ match combination.
 
Being web-based, no matter how many “out stations” there might be, each can access the system as though it is one big system.
 
Additionally, the new Asset Guardian package allows “Software as a Service” (SaaS), which means that Elite can host the server for the client.
 
Besides being used at the moment by BP Angola, several companies are using the Asset Guardian Solutions Limited test server located in France for demo purposes.
 
Asset Guardian v4 may look almost the same, and offer all the same functionality as the original, but the new system takes configuration management into a whole new dimension.
