Samuel B Mackay - Managing Director
Married with two children, Sam Mackay holds the position of Managing Director with Elite Control Systems Limited.
Sam was born and bred locally, and developed an active interest in sport. Golf and squash have been a passion, but football was his main interest - not just as a player, but as a coach. He even took his under - 18's team to the final of the Scottish Cup.
Sam's other interest and driving ambition was to be an Electrician, this led him to an apprenticeship as a Maintenance Electrician, before he took it a step further and went to Teacher Training College. He was a well respected Lecturer at both Falkirk and West Lothian Colleges.
Even though he thoroughly enjoyed lecturing, Sam was looking for a further challenge, which led to his being appointed Area Sales Engineer selling PLC equipment for one of the market leading Manufacturers, AEG Modicon. Sam departed AEG with his sights firmly set on a management role to became Operations Manager, working with and selling PLC based solutions with Electrical Mechanical Instrument Services Limited.
And then came the further, and ultimate challenge: launching Elite Control Systems Limited in partnership with Ewan McAllister in June 1992.

Ewan McAllister - Technical Director
Married and father of two, Ewan is a third generation piper, his family having all been members of the world famous Shotts And Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band, are well known and highly respected among the pipe band fraternity - not just in Scotland, but around the globe.
On leaving school, faced with a choice between academia and industry, Ewan chose the latter. Starting off as a Maintenance Electrician, promotion and company changes saw him gain experience as a Field Service Engineer and a Project Engineer.
Ewan has strong background in both service and systems engineering gained across a range of industry sectors. He has worked in environments from large multi-national engineering companies to integrators operating locally and internationally. He prides himself in keeping abreast of the most up-to-date technological advances.
However, it was as a Systems Engineer, with Electrical Mechanical Instrument Services Limited in 1992 that he met Sam Mackay and ELiTE was conceived.

Iain Rennie - Asset Guardian Product Manager
Iain holds the position of Asset Guardian Product Manager at Elite having worked his way up through the company.
Initially after leaving school Iain followed an academic path, studying for a B.Sc. Honours degree in Mathematical Physics at Edinburgh University. After graduating, he spent a further year studying for a Masters degree in Control Systems Technology at Napier University, Edinburgh. He graduated with distinction and was immediately offered employment with Elite, where he joined in 1994 as a Graduate Trainee.
He quickly progressed in the company to Systems Engineer, Senior Engineer, Consultancy Department Manager and Engineering Operations Manager before taking up his current post early in 2008. At Elite, Iain has worked on a wide variety of projects across all industry sectors including time abroad in China, USA and Azerbaijan.
Throughout his time at Elite Iain has continued his professional development and has written and presented papers at conferences, such as the PLCOpen conference in Houston, Texas and BARA safety seminar at Warwick University. Iain is a member of the IEE and a Chartered Engineer. He also holds the position of Quality Manager at Elite and is head of the development team for Elite's configuration management application, Asset Guardian.
Iain is married with two children and enjoys football, golf and tennis in his spare time.
